Leviton Type 1 surge protection devices offer the first line of defense against external surges. They use the largest MOVs (metal oxide varistors) in the industry (40mm and 53mm) and are outdoor rated. Some Type 1 devices feature an audible alarm warning that the device is no longer providing the rated surge protection.

Type 3 / Surge Strips and Receptacles

Leviton Type 3 surge protection devices are designed to meet all point-of-use applications. The surge strips provide triple-redundant protection: Thermal Cutoff Fuse (TCO), Neutral to Ground Fuse and Circuit Breaker (CB). Leviton also offers tamper-resistant receptacle versions, IG versions and quads.

Leviton Type 2 surge panels use UL-recognized surge fuses and offer models that contain replacement modules, surge counters and 7-mode protection. Leviton also offers models that can be used for both Delta and WYE transformers. These surge protection devices conform to NEMA LS 1 guidelines.

Type 4 / UL Recognized Surge Components

Leviton Type 4 surge protection devices are UL-recognized components and are available in a variety of configurations, including DIN rail mount, wall mount and leaded.
